The P.O.P. Project
(Pursuing Our Passion)

The P.O.P. Project was launched in April 1999. Funded by Human Resources Development Canada, Toronto Programs Group, this CFEE pilot project is designed to assist fifteen youth in planning, starting up, and running their own ventures.

The P.O.P. Project will:

  • engage these youth in a program focused on entrepreneurship development that includes orientation, assessment, training, internship, and mentorship — all designed specifically for their needs;
  • prepare these youth to be operating their own businesses for a minimum of eleven weeks of the 32-week program (participants enter the program in July 1999) with excellent prospects for continuing and long-term viability;
  • lend itself uniquely to application with youth who will not be attending college or university after high school, in that entrepreneurship offers a broad and highly inclusive avenue to success; and
  • be developed and operated as a pilot with a view to eventually involving sponsoring organizations throughout Canada in a locally organized, nationwide implementation.

If you have questions, or would like more information about this Project, please contact us.
